8. CADA Partner with Baltimore-Xiamen Sister City Committee

In November, 2008, CADA is fortunately to learn about Mr. Calvin Chin and the Baltimore-Xiamen Sister City Committee. Mr. Chin was a founding member of the Baltimore-Xiamen Sister City Committee and the patriarch of Baltimore’s Chinese community. He passed away on February 12, 2008. Currently, The Mayor’s Office of International & Immigrant Affairs and the Baltimore Sister Cities Association, Inc.jointly administer Baltimore’s Sister Cities programs. Like Baltimore’s other 10 Sister Cities, the Xiamen relationship is managed directly by a committee of private-sector volunteers.

Meanwhile, CADA and Baltimore-Xiamen Sister City committee are exploring various ways to promote the medical exchange between Baltimore and Xiamen cities, including medical education and services. Mrs. Kitty Chin, Calvin’s wife, has been a staunch supporter of CADA and an active advocate for the Chinese communities. CADA is very fortunate to have the support from her and her families.
